Meet the Artist
Illustrated Melanin was birthed from a desire to show more representation and focus on wellness and intention.
The artist, Elisa Summiel, is a San Diego based visual artist with a background in graphic & communication design.
With Black women as her subject matter, she highlights them in joy and love. Creating illustrations, journals, and greeting cards to bring affirmations and purpose to life through illustration.
My aim to ensure that we are the forefront of representation. With all the color in the world, how can you not see it? Not embrace it? Not acknowledge it? We’re beautiful and deserve to be seen everywhere.
