Meet the Artist
Elisa Summiel-Bey is the visionary Founder and Illustrator behind Illustrated Melanin, a Black-owned wellness stationery brand that merges illustration with intention to celebrate the beauty and diversity of melanin. With over a decade of experience in graphic design, print and prepress, and fulfillment, Elisa brings a wealth of expertise to her work, infusing each project with joy and intention. She holds a degree in Graphic Design and a Master’s in Communication Design, which have both helped shape her creative and professional journey.
Launching Illustrated Melanin four years ago, Elisa is driven by a personal journey towards wellness and a desire to uplift and encourage others. This brand specializes in stationery products and community events—from greeting cards to wellness journals to coloring parties—that are designed to infuse everyday life with mindfulness, purpose, and joy. Each aspect represents the diverse nature of our culture, inviting Black and Brown women on a journey of self-discovery and acceptance.
